Update 2/17

posted Feb 17, 2010, 3:02 PM by Julie Bateman
Olá,

We have the latest draft from our architects for the Pantanal Center for Education and Research (PCER), located in the Jaguar Ecological Reserve. The engineers and architects are currently incorporating our energy and water systems into PCER.

We are pursuing projects with researchers from Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul and Universidade de São Paulo to arrange student discounts and include a seismographic station on PCER's ground.

Our efforts are currently focused on fund-raising. We are making steady progress towards our target of $60,000 with recent good news that we will represent U of M for the Davis Project for Peace. This gives us $17,500 confirmed, and $33,000 pending from four organization grants and six individual fellowship grants (we'll hear in mid-March). We are raising funds from  family, friends and on-campus. Every contribution is significant and greatly appreciated.

Thank you keeping up with us, and if you have any comments, suggestions, questions email Ethan at ething@umich.edu or Julie at jbate@umich.edu.

Muito obrigados,
